The Wightlink Warriors are delighted to welcome Danno Verge as the 6th member of the 2018 side. Danno, who rode for Mildenhall in 2017, comes into the main body of the side on a 4.49 average.
A delighted Danno said, “Firstly, I would like to thank Barry Bishop, Martin Widman and Jackie Vatcher for offering me a deal to come to the Isle Of Wight. On a personal note, I know this move will do me good having grown up on the small tracks. Previously I have not been that good around the big tracks and in order to improve my average overall a big home track is what I need. I feel that coming to the Island, with the support from the management, I can improve my performances on the bigger tracks and be a better all round rider. More importantly, I like how the Warriors are run. They want to have fun as well as get the job done and that's what its all about. If you are having fun and feel happy at your club then you generally race better. And last but not least I look forward to working as a team with the other lads that I know well, and I look forward to seeing all the fans on the Island when the season starts.”
Wightlink Warriors Co-promoter Barry Bishop added, “Danno is starting to come of age now and a move to a larger track will do him and the club the world of good . Danno has maintained his average over the last 2 seasons and impressed us at the GB Young Lions camp held on the Island last February. Danno is another team player, which is important to help us maintain the direction of the club. This season surrounded by support we hope Danno will grow in confidence and show the speedway world what he can do. I am sure he will be another hit with the fans and that I hope you will join me in welcoming Danno to the club.”
