Isle of Wight Speedway has been giving fans of motorcycle Motorsport a home on the Island since 1996, albeit with a break from the end of the 2013 season until  2016.  With a purpose built stadium on Ashey Road, Ryde, we host approximately 20 speedway home meetings a year during the National League Speedway season between April and October.
After a successful 2016 re-launch of the sport on the Island, followed by three solid seasons on and off track, preparations are already in hand to bring the Warriors back to the tapes for a fifth consecutive year in the National Development League of British Speedway.  Don’t forget to bookmark our site and please visit our internet home again soon.

Barry Bishop has a long association with speedway having been a rider, including for the Wight Wizards, owner of My First Skid Speedway School, and is a life time fan of speedway and grass track racing.  Barry was a submariner for 14 years before leaving the military to start work in the City of London.  He now lives just outside Chipping Norton with his partner Lisa and their four children.
Martin Widman has been involved in speedway for a number of years, starting out as a fan at Sheffield when in his youth.  An occasional supporter while he moved around during his career in the Royal Air Force, but later picking it back up seriously as a Leicester and Long Eaton supporter in the 80’s and 90’s.  All that was overtaken as his family grew up but the crucial point came with his middle child, Chris, expressing more than a passing interest in wanting to become a speedway rider.  His career has progressed well and has resulted in Chris becoming a firm favourite on the Island whilst riding for the Warriors in past seasons.
Rob Dyer has been attending speedway since 1968 and has an excellent knowledge of the sport at all levels having travelled across the UK and Europe to watch meetings.  He has provided live commentary on various productions, and is a very accomplished interviewer.  Rob came on board with the Warriors at the beginning of the 2017 season as race day announcer, and soon took on the role of press officer once the season began.
Andy lives in Poole with his wife Nelly and daughters Erica and Sophia.  He spent most of his life as an entertainer, singer/musician which took him all over the world fronting bands and as a solo act.  In 2013 his life was to suddenly to be turned upside down.  Andy suffered a major stroke, one which he was very lucky to live through.  Along with other challenges, he has relearned to walk and talk again, and is still adapting to a different way of life.  A speedway fan since his first meeting at Poole in 1990, during his recovery along with his brother Paul, they created SPEEDWAY PORTAL. Providing the Warriors Channel within the Portal was his first step inside our sport and has now become a part of the Warriors off track team.
Ian came on board with the Warriors as official track photographer from day 1 of speedway's return to the Island.  Rarely missing a meeting, his images soon captured not only the action, but all the local and national press.  He extended his role in 2016 to help behind the scenes with design ideas and implementation, and is now the 'go to' guy for Warriors designs and promotional products.
Angie was born on the Island and grew up in East Cowes before moving to Ryde 20 years ago.  She is married to Warriors mechanic Ryan, and has two teenage sons.  Although her background is in childcare, she has achieved an Honours Degree in Education & Training and has put this to good use in her role with the club.  Angie was introduced to speedway by Ryan almost 5 years ago as he was heavily involved with the Isle of Wight team, and has totally fallen in love with the sport!
