Warriors Welcome Back Chad Wirtzfeld

The Wightlink Warriors are delighted to announce the signing of Chad Wirtzfeld to the 2024 team. Chad who has been involved with the Isle of Wight Speedway team since it returned to racing has progressed from every stage at Smallbrook. Chad started with My First Skid, progressed to the Wightlink Wizards and has for the few season been a Wightlink Warrior. Chad has a vast amount of experience for someone so young competing in many international speedway and Grasstrack meetings in the UK and abroad.

Team manager Steve Piper said, “I am delighted Chad has rejoined the Wightlink Warriors as he is in fine form this season and will play a vital role in the engine room of the team. I know that the supporters have seen him grow up and mature as a rider and I am sure they will be pleased to see Chad back in the team. I think this season Chad will make big strides and move on to great things. He has invested in his speedway equipment to give it his best shot and it's paying dividends. With Chad’s very busy season, plus his work commitments we are delighted to fit him in. So thats the full team now and I am delighted with our line up;

1 Arran Butcher (c)2 Sonny Springer 3 Chad Wirtzfeld 4 Henning Loof 5 Jacob Clouting 6 Morgan Williams

We are in for a great season and let's support the team to return some silverware.”Chad added, “I am so pleased to be back with the Wightlink Warriors. Having done so many laps around Smallbrook track either with MFS or as a mascot, Wizard or Warrior I cannot wait to get started again, its home for me.  I’m having a great season so far and I hope that I can help the Warriors win some silverware.  I’m looking forward to seeing the fans and sponsors again at Smallbrook and look forward to a great season with everybody”

You can watch Chad in his first meeting for the Wightlink Warriors on track Thursday 27th June when the Warriors take on the ARH Heathens in the first leg of the Vince Mapley Trophy.
