Wightlink Warriors hoping to pull out some claws!
Wightlink Warriors welcome the Mildenhall Fen Tigers.
On Tuesday 26th August the Wightlink Warriors will welcome the Mildenhall Fen Tigers for a team challenge match at Smallbrook Stadium for another action packed night of team speedway racing. Following on from the very well attended team matches so far this season another bumper family orientated crowd is expected.
The Fen Tigers who will start to stage speedway meetings at their West Row Stadium in September bring an action packed side with them to Smallbrook.
Their team features experience and youth and will include the flying James Shanes, ever reliable Connor Coles, Max Broadhurst, Kenzie Cossey, Harrison Rogers and Pole Patryk Daniszewski. The Tigers Team Manager Kieran Philips has put together an interesting side for the club’s first meeting on the road for a couple of years.
Warriors Team Manager Martin Widman, has named Henning Loof, Darryl Ritchings Charlie Southwick and Harley Freeman, but news yesterday that Captain Arran Butcher cannot make it due to his hand injury not healing as well as first thought has been a blow.
Martin said, “I’m really looking forward to welcome the Fen Tigers to Smallbrook and we certainly wish them every success on their return to speedway. I am sure this will be a very exciting match with some top riders in the teams who have produced some super action this season already. However, we of course know they are coming to try to win and we need to be at our best to prevent it.”
The action starts at Smallbrook (PO33 4BH) at 6.45pm with the riders parade, kids on track at 6.10pm and the main event kicks off at 7pm. Entry is Adults £15 Seniors £12 and kids are always free.
We would like to thank all our volunteers on and off the track who ensure these meetings take place and to Wightlink for their help bring our riders and staff across the Solent.
