Warriors Can Expect No Easy Ride

This week’s speedway action on Thursday (17 August) sees a return to team action for the Wightlink Warriors in round 3 of the Nora No Brakes Racing League - a competition that the home side currently lead by twelve points over nearest rivals Sittingbourne. Cradley will also be involved in the meeting, unfortunately reduced to a three-team tournament due to the withdrawal of Plymouth who are short of available riders for this round.

With the visiting sides including exciting racers such as Paul Starke, Jake Turner, Ben Trigger and Andre Compton it will be no easy ride for the Island side who will track their usual ‘fearsome foursome’ as they seek to extend their overall lead ahead of a fourth and final round in September.

Adding to the entertainment will be the ever-improving youth racers, whilst at least eight Flat Track riders from the Dirt Track Riders Association will also be back to deliver their own special brand of on track competitiveness.

IOW Wightlink Warriors: Ben Morley, Brayden McGuinness, George Congreve (pictured), Arran Butcher.

Sittingbourne Crusaders: Jake Turner, Freddy Hodder, Jason Garrad, Nathan Hargrave.

Cradley Heathens: Paul Starke, Andre Compton, Ben Trigger, James Laker.

Gates at the Smallbrook Stadium open at 5.15pm with the main event starting at 7.00pm. Pre-booking is not required with cash or card accepted at the turnstile.

The club are always happy to receive good luck messages or dedications to be read out during the course of the meeting and this can best be done by logging on to the Warriors website (www.warriorsspeedway.com) scrolling to the bottom of the page and filling in the preset form available there.
