Heartbroken Speedway Co-Promoter Barry Bishop was still coming to terms with calling off the ‘Wightlink’ Warriors press and practice day as he said, “It is with absolute devastation that I have to inform everyone that with a sodden track and a terrible forecast, we have been left with no option but to call off our eagerly anticipated press and practice day on Easter Saturday at the Andrew Younie Smallbrook Stadium”.
In reality this has to be a sensible decision and quite understandable given recent conditions on and around the circuit. It does therefore mean that, weather permitting, the Warriors will launch their 2018 season next Thursday (5 April) with the Vince Mapley Memorial Trophy and a meeting preview will be released over the Easter weekend.
