Warriors Spot A Leek

The Warriors have sprung a surprise by fixing up Macauley Leek with a team spot for 2020. He will step into one of the reserve berths on a 3.00 average. His signing comes hot on the heels of the exciting weekend news that former Warrior Connor Coles is returning to race on the Island next season.

Leek started 2019 at Mildenhall and was riding really well until a freak crash after a race last June saw the Ipswich based man suffer shoulder damage that ruled him out for the rest of the season. Now recovered, many pundits expected him to return to the Fen Tigers; however the Warriors have stepped in to tempt the 20 year old to cross the Solent.

Warriors’ co-promoter Barry Bishop was delighted with his sides’ new capture saying “Macauley has been on our radar for some time and he was really improving towards the end of 2018 at Plymouth. Last year he chose a track closer to his Suffolk home and he was riding well until his crash. Our team planning dictated that we needed to find a new reserve and I am delighted that Macauley has agreed to sign with us. Once he has settled in, I’m confident that we will have a strong team player who has the ability to push his average higher”.

New signing Macauley Leek said, “First off I would like to thank the Warriors management for this terrific opportunity. I have ridden on the Island a few times and it’s a lovely club who are always trying to give the fans a great night out. The track’s been consistent when I have ridden on it and the fans are very fair. I can’t wait to meet them and get going on this new challenge. Silverware is definitely the aim for 2020”.
