Warriors Prepare For National Awards Event


With one prestigious national award already in the bag, the management of the Isle of Wight ‘Wightlink’ Warriors speedway team head to Leicester this weekend for the World Speedway Riders Association (WSRA) annual dinner and awards presentation.

Having been unexpectedly named the National League’s Most Improved Club by the British Speedway Promoters Association (BSPA) last Friday, the Warrior crew will be hoping for more success at an event that saw the Island side named as the WSRA’s Community Club of 2018.

Speaking on his way back to the UK from an earthquake interrupted business trip to Thailand, Warriors co-promoter Barry Bishop said, “It’s that time of year when our sport celebrates the achievements of the past season and from a Warrior perspective we were absolutely stunned and delighted to be named as our league’s Most Improve
