‘Wightlink’ Warriors Welcome Back Adam Portwood

Hot on the heels of the news that the ‘Wightlink’ Wizards are to make a track comeback, Warriors fans will be excited to hear that Adam Portwood is the first name on the ‘Wightlink’ Warriors 2018 team sheet as the club begins team building for the season ahead. Adam, who joined the ‘Wightlink’ Warriors towards the latter end of the 2017 season after impressing at the Vincent's Motorcycle and Antiques Handicap meeting, will return to one of the two reserve berths on a 3.83 average.

Jackie Vatcher, the ‘Wightlink’ Warriors Team Manager said “The secret behind a successful side is riders continually improving their averages and helping to build team spirit. I am delighted to announce that Adam Portwood will be returning to the ‘Wightlink’ Warriors on a 3.83 average and he will have a great opportunity to improve his average in 2018 on the Island. Last season, the Warriors struggled on track for many different reasons and Adam's introduction to the team was a massive boost, as he was great for team spirit, and had the experience to win races. 2018 will be a big year for Adam, as he will start the season in one of the Warriors reserve places, but we expect him to achieve his targets and finish in the main body of the team”. A delighted Adam talking directly to the fans added, "Hi Warrior family. I am delighted to say that I am returning to the team in 2018. I was very happy with my performance last year, apart from the last meeting at Mildenhall. My aim for 2018 is to improve my average and progress into the main body of the team. I love coming over to the island, the fans are spot on and same goes for all the officials and I think the track is awesome. I can't wait to see you all and I will try my best for you all and keep my hair in shape!" ‘Wightlink’ Warriors Co-promoter Barry Bishop added, "We have to keep all options open with regards to riders for 2018 until we know what the points limit is going to be, however, with Adam, we know that he should increase his average, he was incredibly popular when he joined the club last season, so in reality it was a no brainer."
