Lions On The Loose At Smallbrook Stadium

Martin Widman and Barry Bishop, the Isle of Wight promotion team are extremely proud to once again welcome Neil Vatcher and the GB Young Lions speedway squad to the Andrew Younie Stadium 13 - 15th February. The riders will all have the opportunity to get in some early season practise on the large Smallbrook circuit under the watchful eyes of international stars Paul Hurry and Steve Worrall. The 3 days camp will include on track practise, fitness work, diet advice, media training and bike preparation.

‘Wightlink’ Warriors co-promoter Barry Bishop said, "This is the second time we have held this event with the GB Young Lions. The facilities here on the Isle of Wight sit perfectly for this type of training camp. The intensive sessions will enable some of the country’s best young talent to experience the large island track, perhaps for the first time, while learning about all the important off-track activities of being a speedway rider. Last year’s camp was a huge success and I am sure this year’s will be equally as enjoyable and productive. The ‘Wightlink’ Warriors track staff have already been out to ensure that the circuit and surrounds are ready for our guests, with the bikes on track on Tuesday and Thursday from 11am. The event is free to enter, so why not come along and have a look at the up and coming stars on show.

There will also be a speedway quiz night on Wednesday evening (19.00) in the Premier Lounge hosted by our own Rob Dyer, teams cost £5 to enter and will be lots of fun I am sure."
