Young Lions Training Camp At Smallbrook

Martin Widman and Barry Bishop are extremely proud to once again welcome Neil Vatcher and the GB Young Lions speedway squad to the Smallbrook Stadium during the February school half-term week. The up and coming youngsters will all have the opportunity to get in some early season on-track practice between 18 – 20 February on the large Smallbrook circuit under the close supervision of established international riders with the three day development camp also offering tuition on fitness work, dietary advice, media training and bike preparation.

Barry Bishop said, "This is the third time we have been able to host the cream of Great Britain’s Under 21 riders and we are delighted to welcome them back. The facilities here at Smallbrook are ideally suited to way in which the organisers like to set out their programme and the intensive sessions will enable some of the country’s best young talent to experience the large island track, perhaps for the first time, while learning about all the important off-track activities associated with being a speedway rider. Neil Vatcher and his team are well versed in giving the youngsters a brilliant start to their season and you just have to look at the now established riders who have started in this way to understand the benefits that can be gained. The event is open to the public with riders planned to be on track on the Tuesday and Thursday”.

Arrangements are also being made to hold a speedway quiz night on the Wednesday evening in the Premier Lounge at the stadium which will be open to everyone. More details will be provided in due course.
