Local Lad Finn To Fly For The Wizards

Sixteen year old Islander Finn Peacey is the final rider to be announced for the 2018 ‘Wightlink’ Wizards squad. Finn who lives in East Cowes said “I am really happy to be in the ‘Wightlink’ Wizards squad because I have been coming to the speedway on the island with my dad since I was really young and to finally get an opportunity to chase my dream is amazing and I thank everyone involved to giving me that chance. This will be my first season racing, so I am just hoping to improve my riding all round and hopefully I can progress in the sport. I first started riding speedway at the first My First Skid and I think I have only missed one of them since. The advice and help on and off the track from everyone is amazing and helps so much. What Barry, Martin and all the Warriors involved have done over the past two years to get the club up and running again with such success is so good to see and I can't wait to see the club progress further and I hope to be a part of the momentum.” ‘Wightlink’ Wizards Co-promoter Barry Bishop said, “We are all delighted to add Finn to the 2018 squad. We have a brilliant group of youngsters at My First Skid, so to have Finn in the team and gaining the opportunity to learn about bikes and racing is a huge part of the club’s vision. Bringing youth riders through is one of our key objectives and we already know we will soon have further talented riders coming through the My First Skid speedway school, for example Chad Wirtzfeld. Finn is in for a great year, where he will learn a lot, have fun with no pressure other than to learn and do himself, the team and the island proud. Being in the team is an ideal chance for him to progress at a fast rate.”
