The Warriors head to Sittingbourne on Monday evening (8 July) where their recent improved form will be tested by the youthful Kent Kings side.
On their last trip to the ‘Garden of England’ the hosts delivered a nineteen point knock-out blow to any hope the Warriors had of taking a surprise victory in the National Trophy. This time league points are on the line and the Warriors will be travelling east determined to produce a much more resolute showing.
After several difficult weeks of organising cover for injured riders, the Kings position has improved somewhat although with both first choice reserves still sidelined regular deputy Jacob Clouting is called in again to join another hot teenage prospect Jake Mulford.
Warriors have no such injury problems and will at full strength.
Warrior’s co-promoter Barry Bishop said, “Our last trip to Kent was wholly unsuccessful. We couldn’t stop them building up a big early lead and in honesty ended up just picking up points where we could. This time we need to be far more determined and look like we mean business. If we do, and we do have the capability to be a threat, there is no reason why we can’t target at least one league point from the meeting – maybe more”.
