Warriors have been hit by the news that skipper Ben Hopwood is set to miss tomorrow night’s trip to Eastbourne.
Writing on the Island Supporters Club Facebook page, Hopwood says, “Unfortunately something hit my hand last night in heat 15 and it turns out I’ve broken the knuckle. I’m going to rent an Exogen machine so I can begin treatment straight away and get back to racing my bike next week”.
Hopwood’s absence at Eastbourne will be covered by the rider replacement facility, the only option available in the circumstances.
As can be appreciated, rental of such sophisticated equipment is not cheap and if any supporters would like to help Ben financially, they are advised to email the club in the first instance using speedwayontheisland@yahoo.co.uk
