Upright Championship Secures Excellent Sponsor

The NORA British Upright Speedway Championship Final scheduled for August 11th at Smallbrook Stadium will benefit from the excellent backing of lead sponsors Freelance Installations Ltd, the Leicestershire based extraction systems company who have been regular and generous supporters of speedway on the Island since its return in 2016.

Speaking earlier this week, Andy Hislop, owner of Freelance Installations said “I am delighted to be a part of the NORA Upright Championship Final in 2022 and having been a Wightlink Warriors sponsor for several years I know just how hard the clubs’ owners Barry Bishop and Martin Widman have worked to drive the Wightlink Warriors forward therefore hosting this new and exciting event is just reward for them.

The riders’ names released so far really whet the appetite and a first-class field looks to be coming together for a fantastic occasion that I feel truly honoured to play a small part in. Watching the enthusiasm from the terraces for upright racing at Smallbrook last year was just one of the reasons I wanted to be involved with the Championship and seeing the riders out on-track was a real joy and now I can’t wait for the action to start”.

Warriors’ co-owner Barry Bishop added, “Andy, Angie and Freelance Installations have been great friends of the Warriors over the years and their relationship with the club has grown from making lovely Warrior wristbands for the kids, attending every ‘My First Skid’, to now sponsoring a British Final. It’s a sponsorship relationship that we are so proud of because we have seen it develop into something quite special and we are all delighted that Andy, who requested to sponsor the event as soon as it was announced, will be our lead sponsor for this fabulous championship that is being superbly co-ordinated by Lee Coleman. In addition, we have many other sponsorship opportunities, large and small, that are available for our 2022 events so please email speedwayontheisland@yahoo.co.uk if you would like to know more”.
