Sadness At The Shock Passing Of Danny Ayres

Stunned 'Wightlink' Warriors co-promoter Barry Bishop paid tribute to the former Mildenhall racer Danny Ayres whose death was announced on Saturday evening:

'We are all still in shock about the passing of Mr Entertainment, Danny Ayres.

Danny really was dedicated speedway rider who had grown both as a person and rider in the time we knew him. He was always pushing himself, while supporting his team mates whether that was as a guest or his official teams. He always wanted to be the best he could be, proud of every win, every lap, every cheer from the crowd. Danny never said no to any opportunity to race or practice on the Island’s track - he loved it and we loved him. (Especially when he was guesting for us️). His entertainment, his all out style, his confidence will be seen no more.

Martin Widman, everyone associated with the Warriors, Wizards and myself send our heartfelt condolences to Danny’s family, friends and fans......he will be greatly missed. God’s speed'.
