Boosted by his performance in the recent BSPA British Under 21 Final, 15 year old speedway sensation Drew Kemp stepped up a gear to roar his way to an unbeaten five ride maximum and help the Mildenhall Fen Tigers to chalk up a 51 – 39 away win over the Isle of Wight.

The talented youngster pulled out all the stops to produce a blue chip performance around the Island raceway and record the first 15 point league maximum of his career.  It could also put him into the sport’s record books as the youngest rider ever to score a 15 point maximum away from home in the history of the National League.

‘It’s a great feeling’ he said, ‘but I mustn’t let it go to my head.  I have to thank my team as my bike set – up was just perfect and I was able to make some very quick starts which made my job that much easier.’

‘The recent bad weather has stopped me getting on the bike and get on track which hasn’t helped as I just want to race.  So to go unbeaten tonight was just terrific.’

Drew’s performance caught the eye of everyone at the match including Isle of Wight co-promoter Barry Bishop who said, ‘Drew Kemp’s performance was simply outstanding for one so young.’

A few more performances like this, and Drew will certainly become a target for other British clubs, but at the moment he is happy to stay and help Mildenhall challenge for the league championship.
